Hi! I’m Becca, and I love bringing history to life.
Using surviving portraits, sculptures, death masks, and historical records, I create realistic facial reconstructions of the people behind the legends — from queens and kings, to artists and explorers.
My goal is to make history feel human and immediate: to let you look these figures in the eye and see them not as distant names, but as real people who lived, ruled, loved, and struggled.
REAL RESEARCH, REAL ARTISTRY
My facial reconstructions are created using various photocompositing methods. Often I’ll use generative AI for small bits of my images like pieces of historical costuming that I’m unable to find reference photos for. I also use generative AI to create the character in motion sections of our videos.
All of my work is backed by a lot of research and vigilance – rest assured I am NEVER pulling any image directly out of an AI engine to present to you. Each re-creation takes many hours of human work.
I dive deep into historic records, researching clothing, hairstyles, beauty trends, norms, and of course take into account the personality of each subject when constructing a re-creation.
A LITTLE ABOUT ME
With a BFA in Graphic Design, I have over 10 years of experience in the design field. My skills range from corporate marketing collateral to Photoshop retouching and photocompositing. Royalty Now is my side business, but it feels like my “baby.” It so specifically encompasses my passions – art, history, design & Photoshop. I truly love doing what I do.
I currently live in Texas with my husband and little girl. My husband, Andre, is often the writer and editor behind many of our videos, and is a talented history-lover himself.
More recently, my husband and I have teamed up to create the historical documentary branch of Royalty Now, called Royalty Now Studios. We’ve made dozens of videos that dive deeper into each historical figure, at the end discussing what sources we used for their appearance and revealing the re-creations.
